Expanding Opportunities in Civil Technology

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Civil engineering is going through tremendous change which opens up opportunities for tech savvy high school and community college grads in fields such as Reality Capture (called surveying, Geomatics, photogrammetry);  transportation engineering technology, water resources management and more. These same subjects are preparatory toward an engineering degree or to employment as a technician.  The presentation will discuss all of those technologies as well as demonstrating several software products including:  Context Capture for automated photogrammetry for converting digital photographs to 3D mesh models; Concept Station, a new game-like software for quickly creating a 3D design of a new corridor (highway, rail road, pipeline..) including quantity and cost calculations, Water software including city water distribution, waste water collection, hydrology and more.  Attendees will leave with video and other training material that can be used in a classroom for orientation into new technology.  The software is also available economically for more in-depth classes.
